There are many factors which can slow down or speed up the duration of the conveyancing process. The rough numbers are 28 to 36 days for auction, 8 to 10 weeks for freeholds and 12 to 14 weeks for leaseholds, but we have completed no-chain sales faster.

What happens if the property is undervalued?

The mortgage lender's valuation will be carried out by a RICS surveyor and should be reliable. Unless you are fairly certain that they have made a mistake in their calculation, you may need to negotiate with the buyer and bring the price down, or find a new cash buyer.
