Don't use your credit cards to withdraw cash

You should only ever withdraw cash using a credit card in an emergency.

It's very expensive and worse, lenders view it as proof that your money management skills are poor: it is recorded on your credit file.

Joint Mortgage

Joint mortgages are mortgages which two (or more) people take out to buy a property typically when they live together. The mortgage sum granted is calculated according to 2 (or more) incomes and so is a way of getting a larger mortgage than if one person alone was applying for one.

The other side of a joint mortgage is that all of the borrowers are equally joint and severally liable . This means that if, for example, one person defaults on the required repayments, then the lender can pursue all parties on the mortgage to recover the money owed and ultimately it can repossess your home even if you yourself, out of all the signatories on the mortgage, have been making the correct, timely repayments.

Market Harborough is a market town in Leicestershire and the area used to be part of the Rockingham Forest, a former royal hunting ground in medieval times used by monarchs starting with William I. It has a history stretching back to Saxon times and was prominent in the English Civil War as the headquarters of the King's Army.

There was a considerable increase in building homes with bricks in the 18th century – they were frequently previously built of mud, thatch and timber – and around this time the town became a staging point for coach travel between London, the Midlands and the North West. Industry considerably developed in the 19th century and the arrival of the Leicester-Rugby railway in 1840 (even though the town itself didn't get a station until 1850) spelt the end of the coach travel industry. The centre of the town has been classified as a conservation area.

Landmarks and attractions include the Old Grammar School, built in 1614, St Dionysius Church, which dates back to the 14th century, The Old Town Hall, The Old Fire Station, Harborough Museum, the Foxton Locks (a sequence of 10 canal locks in two staircases each of 5 locks) and Gartree Prison.

Market Harborough Mortgage Broker Insider Tips

If you're buying, getting a structural assessment (Building Survey) of your property in Market Harborough from a RICS Surveyor is key and can save you £1,000s by highlighting defects that can be shared or negotiated with the seller.

All too often buyers choose to not get a Building Survey thinking that their Mortgage Valuation will cover them for this. Sadly the mortgage valuation doesn't highlight structural defects or risks.

Once you realise this and then choose to get a Building Survey you may find that you are pushed to get this done in time for exchange of contracts because you have waited so long. This is especially annoying as your conveyancing solicitor needs some of the information from the survey to complete your legal work.

The best advice for fast conveyancing in Market Harborough is to book your Building Survey at the same time as you instruct your conveyancing solicitor

Surveyors are in high demand at the moment and bookings can often take 7 to 10 days and then the report 3 to 5 days after that so the sooner you book, the quicker you'll know if there are any defects with you property - plus you'll be set for a fast conveyancing completion!
