No credit history? Take out a small loan and repay it completely

If you've no credit history, your credit score will not be excellent because you'll have no track record of paying back a loan correctly. So you might want to take out a small loan – with small repayment amounts – and pay the loan back on time.

Once you've paid back the loan successfully, this will be reflected in an uplift in your credit score.

No Deposit Mortgage

No deposit mortgages are designed such that the applicant gets a 100% loan to value (LTV) from the lender without having to provide the normal 10% deposit.

The applicant must, however, have an associate (most often a family member) who provides security for the mortgage loan normally by either agreeing to leave a sum of money in a linked account for a set period of time (the lender controls the account during that time period) or by putting up their own house as collateral.

If the mortgage holder defaults on repayments, the lender can remove funds from the linked account or force the associate to release value from their own home to make up the shortfall.

Hertfordshire is a county just to the north of the Greater London area and as such is one of the so-called home counties. Hertford is the county's county town, but there are a number of much larger settlements such as St Albans and Stevenage. Many of these serve as commuter dormitory towns for workers in London.

Landmarks include Hatfield House (Jacobean), St Albans' Roman remains (Verulamium), Knebworth House (the grounds have often hosted major outdoor concerts and the de Havilland Aicraft Heritage Centre. The county has many affluent areas, often in relatively small villages, such as Well Pond Green in Standon. Hertfordshire also hosts the University of Hertfordshire, which is divided up between a number of campuses.
