Getting a mortgage offer is one of the biggest contributors to delays during the conveyancing process. Getting a mortgage in principle now happens before your offer is accepted by the Estate Agent selling the property.

Some clients think the Mortgage in Principle is the mortgage offer; however the mortgage lender doesn’t give a mortgage offer until they have credit approved you and completed a property valuation. This process could take weeks as Surveyors need to be instructed and access arranged.

As soon as you get your offer accepted by the seller, you should reapply to your mortgage lender to get the ball rolling on getting your mortgage offer.
