Middlesbrough is in Teeside in North Yorkshire and was founded in 1830 and is a large industrial town. It grew massively from around 40 people in 1829 to more than 7,500 in 1851 principly because of the construction of coal staithes and the industrial hinterland which of necessity accompanied this.

There are some surviving properties from the Victorian era here and there, particularly the Victorian terrace houses around the town centre and in the streets surrounding Parliament Road and Abingdon Road, but the town was heavily bombed in the 2nd world war and much of the period properties were destroyed or demolished afterwards and replaced by new housing.

New build developments include the semi-detached houses in Cargo Fleet Lane, the detached houses in Dixons Bank, Milan Grove and Church Lane (all three are in the Nunthorpe area), the flats in Corporation Road and the detached houses in Low Lane, Acklam, some of which are available to buy under Help to Buy terms.
