Solihull is a large town situated just outside Birmingham (10 miles southeast of it). It is 14 miles west of Coventry, 17 miles north of Stratford-upon-Avon and 32 miles northeast of Worcester. Solihull is the most opulent town in the United Kingdom, excluding London. In 2013 it was named ‘the best place to live’ by the uSwitch Quality of Life Index.

The origin of the name is thought to come from the phrase a ‘soily hill’ because the parish church resided on a hill of marl that turned to mud when wet.

There are a large number of parks and nature reserves with Babbs Mill and Millisons Wood being the largest. There is a public swimming pool on the edge of Tudor Grange Park. Solihull Carnival is another attraction in the town that occurs each June.
